WADA releases two Guidelines taking effect immediately – hGH and GC-C-IRMS
Montreal, January 30, 2014
Dear Stakeholders,
hGH
WADA releases version 2.0 of the Guidelines for the application of the human Growth Hormone (hGH) Isoform Differential Immunoassays for detection of doping with human Growth Hormone in sport .
This new version of the Guidelines reflects the revised Decision Limits applicable to the hGH isoforms method, which resulted from statistical analyses performed on hGH doping control data by two independent teams of statisticians. These Guidelines have been further developed to ensure a harmonized approach in the application of the Isoform Differential Immunoassays for the detection of doping with hGH in sport. The Guidelines continue to provide direction on the sample pre-analytical preparation procedure, the performance of the test(s) and the interpretation and reporting of the test results.
This document, which is complementary to the International Standard for Laboratories, takes effect immediately.
The Guidelines on hGH Isoform Differential Immunoassays for anti-doping analyses is available on WADA’s Web site.
GC-C-IRMS
WADA also releases Version 1.0 of the Guidelines for detection of synthetics forms of Endogenous Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (EAAS) by Gas Chromatography – Combustion – Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (GC-C-IRMS).
The Guidelines are for the application of the GC-C-IRMS method to the detection of synthetic forms of endogenous anabolic androgenic steroids (EAAS), boldenone and formestane. These Guidelines have been developed to ensure a harmonized approach in the application of the GC-C-IRMS method for the detection of doping with anabolic steroids in sport. The Guidelines provide direction on the performance of the test and the interpretation and reporting of the test results. This document, which complements the Technical Document on the Measurement and Reporting of Endogenous Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (TD2014EAAS) and theInternational Standard for Laboratories, takes effect immediately.
The Guidelines for detection of synthetics forms of Endogenous Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (EAAS) by GC-C-IRMS can also be found on WADA’s Web site.
